Child Safety Standards
Last updated: July 2026
Niyyah Nikah has a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards, safeguards, and reporting measures we have in place to keep our platform free from any content or conduct that endangers children, in line with Google Play’s CSAE policy requirements and applicable UK law.
1. Adults only — strictly 18+
Niyyah Nikah is an Islamic matrimonial service intended exclusively for adults aged 18 or over who are legally able to marry. Accounts for or by anyone under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited. Any account we identify as belonging to a minor will be removed immediately.
2. Zero tolerance for CSAE and CSAM
We prohibit, without exception, any content, messages, images, links, or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, endangers, or abuses a child, or that constitutes, promotes, facilitates, or solicits child sexual abuse material. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Uploading, sharing, or requesting sexual content involving anyone under 18.
- Grooming, enticement, or any attempt to sexually exploit a child.
- Trafficking, or the facilitation of trafficking, of minors.
- Any depiction or discussion that sexualises minors.
3. How we prevent and detect abuse
- Age eligibility: Users must confirm they are 18 or older, and provide a date of birth, to register.
- Profile & content moderation: Profiles, photos, and reported conversations are subject to moderation. Photos are blurred by default and are only revealed on mutual consent.
- Reporting & blocking tools: Every profile and conversation includes tools to block and report users. Reports involving suspected child safety concerns are prioritised.
- Guardian (Wali) oversight: Users may invite a guardian to a read-only view of their conversations, adding a further layer of accountability.
- Account enforcement: We may suspend, ban, and permanently retain identifiers of accounts that violate this policy to prevent re-registration.
4. How to report a concern
If you encounter any content or behaviour that may endanger a child, please report it immediately:
- In the app: Use the Report option on any profile or conversation.
- By email: support@niyyahnikah.com (monitored child-safety contact).
We aim to review all child-safety reports as a matter of urgency.
5. Our response when abuse is identified
When we identify or receive a credible report of CSAE or CSAM, we will:
- Remove the offending content and suspend the account(s) involved without delay.
- Preserve relevant evidence in accordance with the law.
- Report to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or UK law enforcement such as the National Crime Agency’s CEOP Command, and cooperate fully with any investigation.
6. Legal compliance
We operate in accordance with applicable child-protection legislation, including the UK Protection of Children Act 1978, the Sexual Offences Act 2003, and the Online Safety Act 2023, as well as Google Play’s policies on CSAE. We work with recognised bodies such as the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and report to NCMEC where required.
7. Designated point of contact
